Environmental Sustainability

Presently implementing 02 projects in 22 districts, 82 Sub-districts & 397 UPs with 330,775 beneficiaries and it is also a cross cutting issue in all JCF development interventions.  In the past JCF implemented activities like- provide training on food and nutrition, personal hygiene, Safe Drinking Water, Sanitation, linkages with local government for getting support, identify best system for access to safe drinking water, promote and establish simple and low cost safe drinking water systems (rain water harvesting, etc), build the capacity of the community to manage and maintain the drinking water systems, matching grant/smart subsidy, promotion of  saline tolerant crop and related technologies, in particular rice, in collaboration with the public and private sector, establishment of demonstration plots for saline tolerant agriculture etc.

The major activities performed under this sector at present are:

  • Stimulate sustainable consumption by influencing individuals, technical experts who can influence individual homeowners and bulk buyers to purchase green construction materials.
  • Support selected MSMEs as business models for wider dissemination and replication.
  • Enable and sustain a favourable policy and regulatory environment.
  • Promote and install home based solar system and improved cooking stove
