Participatory Needs Assessment Workshop arranged at JCF Head Office

A half day Participatory Needs Assessment Workshop was arranged for USAID/Bangladesh Nutrition Activity Program “USAID Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity” on 21st September 2017 at JCF Conference Hall, JCF Bhaban, 46 Mujib Sarak, Jessore-7400. This is a 5 years’ nutrition sensitive agriculture activity project with the objective Improved nutrition & health of children under 5 years, pregnant & lactating women and adolescent (10-18) in the zone of influence. This is a joint event arranged by Abt Associates and JCF to find out the existing problem in nutrition sector at Khulna Division. The government officials from agriculture, fisheries, livestock, family planning, women and child affairs, health department, youth department, public health, social service department and representative from different NGO and related private services were present in the event. The participants were divided into three groups to find out the existing problem and possible solution in three specific sector: diverse, nutritious and safe food; social & economic empowerment f women and adolescents and adoption of improved water, sanitation & hygiene behavior. Two representatives from USAID (Mitchell Nelson & Ingrid Weiss) and two representatives from Abt Associates (Abiqail Conrad & Zahangir Alam) were present in the workshop and they had interactions during the event and at the end expressed their hope that a positive findings could be sorted out from this workshop in designing realistic and community oriented activities to improve nutrition scenario of Bangladesh.
