Deputy Commissioner of Sunamgonj highly appreciated the ‘Let us Learn Project’

District level Inception meeting of the Let us Learn project was organized by Jagorani Chakra Foundation (JCF) in collaboration with UNICEF in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) at Sunamganj on 23 February, 2022. Md. Jahangir Hossain, DC, Sunamganj was present as the chief guest in the meeting. Deputy Director (Local Government), Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) was present as special guest on the occasion. Also present were Additional District Administrator (Education and Technology), Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Bishwarvarpur, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate, Upazila Chairman, Bishwarvarpur, Upazila Education Officer, Instructor-URC and other dignitaries. At the beginning of the project briefing, the chief guest Md. Jahangir Hossain announced the auspicious inauguration and the program started with the presenting of a video documentary on the Let us Learn project. Taniya Laizu Sumy, Education Officer of UNICEF gave welcome address at the end of the video documentary. She provided detailed insights into the background, goals, objectives and strategies of the project. She also analyzed the statistics of primary school enrollment and dropout rate in different upazilas of Sunamganj district and highlighted the rationale for setting up non-formal education centers. Mr. Razu Kumar Sarker, Assistant Director of BNFE, Sunamganj said that he had found the Learning Centers (LCs) of the project very beautiful at the time of his visit and commented that their teaching techniques was also different. However, there were recommendations for more intensive communication. The Deputy Commissioner of Sunamgonj thanked UNICEF and JCF for taking the decision to implement such project in Sunamganj and highly appreciated UNICEF and JCF and assured all kinds of cooperation. He recommended further extension of the duration and scope of work for successful implementation of such education project.
