A moment of Joy for the learners of Let Us Learn Project, Sunamganj
A Team of British High Commissioner visited a Learning Center of ‘Let us Learn Project’ at Sunamgonj district on 23 November, 2021. JCF has been implementing ‘Let us Learn’ project in collaboration with UNICEF in Bishwambarpur and Shantiganj Upazila of Sunamganj district since Jyly 2021. On 23th November 2021, honorable special ambassador of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for Girls’ Education, Ms. Helen Grant and honorable British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Mr. Robert Chatterton Dickson and honorable UNICEF Representative in Bangladesh, Sheldon Yett met with teacher, learners and local community at 101 no Primary Learning Center in the remote Haor area of Sunamganj. The 8 learners of that center greeted the guests with flowers. The Education Officer, UNICEF explained ABAL method and multi-level, multi-group system to the guests. Ms. Helen asked the reason of drop out in the areas. The teacher mentioned two main reasons; one is poverty and another one distance from government primary schools. She again asked about the reason of more girl learners than boys. One Technical Officer of the project informed that girls are deprived and get less facilities than boys. It is the main reason of selecting girl learners. Ms. Helen also asked a learner Nayema about her future dreams. Nayema replied that she wants to be a Police Officer. The note taker of Ms. Helen wrote in visit register, that was Amazing work by the teacher and she loved their uniforms!
