Natural disaster couldn’t disappoint primary students
On 20th of October 2021, sudden heavy floods rampaged the project areas of Future Oriented Quality Education Project in Rangpur district due to heavy rain in the northern part of the country and India. The river Tista was break all her previous year’s record of increasing water level and almost all riverbanks and roads were damaged at Gangachara Upazilla in the district. One of the nine project supported Anandalok school Monajat Uddin Anondolok School and its adjacent areas were totally inundated by water. More than 67 students’ Families were affected as their houses, crops and other valuable assets were lost or damaged. The school building was also damaged in some extent. The project staff had taken immediate steps to rescue the affected community people from the river’s heavy current by informing the local Government authority. After the heavy flooding the teacher and project staff listed the affected student families and linked them to a voluntary organization that provided them food support during emergencies and arranged an Orientation for SMC and parents forum on Disaster preparedness. Teachers are assigned to find out the dropout students whose families shifted their house in other areas and types of support required by the existing students families. In October 2021 the repairing and renovation work of the School started. The other affected Anandalok school Kakon Bibi AS was repaired and colored and repair of other 02 Anandalok school started. The student and parents of the schools as well as teachers are happy as after a long break caused by COVID-19 pandemic their regular class starts in a new look.Make a Call
